Perpetual Trophy: Quoted by Mrs. Mary Buford Hitz-Presented to the High Point Side Saddle Hunter: Elisabeth Scott Bocock was an avid horseback rider who grew up riding in Richmond at the Deep Run Hunt Club when it was still "in town and at Royal Orchard in western Albemarle County in the summer. When she was eight months prengant with my sister Bessie, she rode in and won the Sidesaddle Division at the 1928 Deep Run Show. This would have been a flat class and two jumping classes, and jumps wer BIG in those days. She had asked her doctor what to do differently during her pregnancy. Not knowing her very well, he told her "to just keep doing what you normally do." Bessie was born with rickets and jaundice, but soon recovered!
